11. Sickness or Death

Either of these could happen to anyone at any time; to either or both couples or to the children. If this happens, do you have a plan B or C? How will you manage such? Do you have investments in place? Will you have built social capital? Will you pray against such? Will you have a will in place? Will you beg, for survival? Will you rely on family and friends? Will you rely on the religious place? Will you start sowing seeds in readiness for a possibility of reaping; or nothing will happen to yourself or family; and life will go on as usual?
12. Dominant Personalities
Is your spouse domineering or are they easy going? Are you domineering, or easy going? Are your personalities compatible? Or it is not something worthy of consideration? Is there a chance of personality clash? In the short or long term? Have you concealed your true personality? Just to get hooked? Is this the same for your spouse? Could there be short- or long-term implications? Could the hidden, eventually become bare?
13. Joint Bank Account

How do you manage family expenses? Do you have a joint bank account? Do you have joint family investments? Do you have additional personal ones? Do you agree on amounts to be credited or debited? What if the accounts are mismanaged? What if irresponsible spendings are made? What if your spouse runs you into debt? What if there is a divorce or separation? What if there is conflict?
Are there systems and structures in place to manage mishaps? Do you agree on ‘Terms and Conditions’, whether formal or informal? Will you take precautionary measures to avoid conflict? Or will you plan to fail because you failed to plan?
14. Major Domestic Purchases:

How do you decide major domestic purchases? Will you consult each other? Will you pray before committal? Will you take unilateral decisions? Will you discuss the pros and cons? Will you explore affordability? Will you budget for it? Will you save for it? Will you take joint decisions? Will you shop around for the best deals? Will you patronise family and friends? Will you buy it online or offline? Will you explore guarantees? Will you patronise reputable merchants?
15. Will and Inheritance
Make Your Marriage Work - https://amzn.to/4dAgloT
It is good practice to have a will, especially as you grow older. Death comes unexpectedly. Do not defer the will unnecessarily. Leverage the services of a lawyer, or leverage reliable online platforms. Avoid controversies and confusion. If you’re of Islamic faith, the process could be easier. The sharing formula is already prescribed. If you’re of other or no faiths, you could explore options open to you.
