51. Another Negative Experience

As part of my give-back-to-the-motherland initiative, I’ve offered free mentoring on request. The mentees book appointments to suit their schedules and a lot of them don’t show up; some show up late while most of them give an excuse or the other.
As an organised mentor or teacher, the process doesn’t start at the beginning of mentoring. In order to make sessions productive, you’d spend time preparing for the sessions, and create time from your schedule to accommodate the mentee. If the mentee comes with stories, you’ve probably wasted a lot of your resources. If you’re an older citizen, those resources are even more valuable.
As a result of this, I no longer offer free mentoring. I’ve decided to make a non-refundable charge and also created Terms and Conditions for my services. What are your thoughts?
52. A Better Experience
I met a young Engineer on the internet. We are at resonance with each other. He’s a goal getter, and very dependable. I’m much encouraged, to share what I know. Even if he may not afford my mentoring, I’m happy to offer it for free. He’s my dream of a future Nigeria.
53. Inspirational Song
Have you listened to the song ‘you can get it if you really want?’ It was sung by elder Jimmy Cliff. Search for it on YouTube as well as its lyrics. The lyrics may inspire you to greater heights irrespective of where you are or where you wish to be.

54. Attaining Success
Does success come on a platter of gold? Could you employ the principle of demand and supply? If demand exceeds supply, then there’s a chance of the price going higher, therefore, nothing good comes easy.
55. Opportunities With Content Creation
Do you need to be an expert, to create content? Could you collaborate with the experts and then profit-share? Even if you know only 50% of a subject there are probably millions who know 0%. They are eager to learn from you? You might even communicate your knowledge better in their vocabulary, than the expert with technical language.
You may be placed in the middle of the pyramid with so many below and you charging $5 each. The experts may be at the top of the pyramid teaching the intellectuals at $100 each. Each of you has his crowd and we could all ‘live happily ever after.’
56. Opportunities In Nigeria
Are there opportunities in Nigeria? I like to think so. In as much as a lot of Nigerians emigrate, some other nationals are coming to exploit opportunities in Nigeria; this should give food for thought. Are there ways in which we could address the situation? Are there things that we could do differently? Are there Nigerians thriving in Nigeria? Does adversity present opportunities? Do opportunities present prosperity? Do we need to think outside the box?
57. Footballing Food For Thought
Is there more to the premier league than the footballers? Are there other participants in the industry? Could the footballers do it alone? Is there a value chain? Do the footballers earn the most? Do the board directors earn more? Do advertising companies earn a lot? Do football agents earn a lot? Do merchants in the industry earn a lot? Are the best footballers the best coaches? Were the best coaches the best footballers? As you consider your career or entrepreneurial pursuits, could you consider where to place yourself on the value chain? A place that suits your personality, skill, and vision, rather than trying to live someone else’s journey.
58. Team Work
Is there power in team work? I like to think so. You could share the workload, ideas, and resources. You could constructively criticise each other, etc.
That’s if you have the right team.
Should my mentoring and coaching be free paid or subsidised?
What are your thoughts?
59. Cost Effective Impact
Are there cost-effective ways of making long-lasting impact? Could you create digital content? Could you do it solo or could you collaborate? Could you make the contact relevant as well as impactful? Could your audience access it for free or could it be paid?
Will there be fair and ethical profit sharing? Could you create your own curriculum? As we’re very religious people, could you start from the religious organisation? Could you add great value to your audience? The audience could be groups of chosen demographics. If you’re not the expert, could you collaborate with the experts? If you don’t have money, could you collaborate with those who have? If you can’t market, could marketers be included in the collaboration?
If your content is of great value, it will eventually market itself and could be a legacy project for generations to benefit. It could also make a great difference to your audience and generations to come. You could also monetise passively, if you choose to.
60. Are You Thankful?
Are you thankful for what you have? Will you make the best of it? Have you considered those in areas of conflict? Have you considered those in areas of natural disasters? Have you considered those less fortunate than you? Have you considered those in ill-health? Have you considered those in hospitals? Have you considered the less fortunate?
In hoping for better, are you thankful for what you have? Or you remain ungrateful for what you don’t have?
Thank you very much for your time.
