77. GRATITUDE
Although it may not appear connected to academic achievement, practicing thankfulness can be a really effective way to improve your college experience. In addition to enhancing mental health, having an attitude of gratitude boosts motivation, lowers stress levels, and keeps things in check when things become tough.
Recognise three distinct aspects of your academic experience for which you are thankful at the start of each day. Maybe it’s the chance to follow your hobbies, encouraging instructors, or access to high-quality education. This easy exercise helps you change your attention from the difficult things to the things that are going well for you.
Thank the people who help you with your education. Express gratitude to your family for their support, your classmates for their cooperation, and your lecturers for their advice. In addition to strengthening these important relationships, this serves as a reminder of the network of people who are interested in your well-being.
Keep track of your progress and learning experiences. Keep a gratitude journal in which you note new ideas you’ve learnt, abilities you’ve acquired, and challenges you’ve surmounted. Review these entries to keep yourself in check on short-term setbacks and to remind yourself of how far you’ve gone throughout trying times.
Throughout your time in college, try to stay mindful and in the moment. Enjoy the chance to develop, learn, and get ready for the future. Keep in mind that not everyone has access to education. Routine tasks can become significant steps towards your goals with this knowledge.
And always remember to be grateful to your Creator and Sustainer. Instead of only thinking that ‘things could be better,’ reflect on the multitude in dire situations, who long for a fraction of what you have.
