129. JOB HUNTING
As a recent graduate or while attending college, looking for a career can feel like a full-time job in itself. A planned approach, perseverance, and the capacity to successfully communicate with prospective employers are necessary for success in this endeavour. Maintaining perspective and motivation throughout your job search might be facilitated by realising that it is a process rather than a one-time event.
Start looking for a job as soon as possible, preferably before you graduate. Make use of a variety of platforms, including the career centre at your university, online job boards, industry events, professional networking sites, and personal networks. Do not belittle networking; contacts, not official applications, are often the source of opportunity. Join professional associations in your industry, go to career fairs, and make connections with former students who may be able to offer chances and insights.
Create a powerful online presence while remaining professional on all channels. Your LinkedIn page should be a supplement to your resume, providing more information about your accomplishments and experiences. Before applying or scheduling an interview, do extensive research on potential employers. Tailor your applications to emphasise pertinent experiences and abilities. Be ready to talk about how your extracurricular and academic experiences have equipped you for the role, and use mock interviews to hone your interviewing techniques.

In your job search, remain methodical and organised while striking a healthy balance. Establish a mechanism to monitor applications, deadlines, and follow-ups. Rejections should not deter you; rather, they should be used as opportunities to improve your strategy. Keep in mind that it frequently takes time to locate the appropriate employment, so it is acceptable to begin with a role that provides experience as you continue to pursue your dream position. Throughout the process, remain upbeat, professional, and proactive.
