216. ARE YOU MINDFUL OF WHAT YOUR BODY CONSUMES?
“You are what you eat.” As a college student with a busy schedule of classes, practicals, assignments, and a lot of social activities. It can be very difficult to keep a good or healthy feeding habit. Healthy diets not only nourish the body, but the mind as well. Most times, undergraduates prefer feeding on junk rather than real food. The productivity and energy level of an individual is solely dependent on what such a person consumes; with the demanding and stressful academic system, it is important you pay attention to what you take in, as it defines your level of productivity.
Moreover, the food we define as convenient food, has an instant pleasure and effect, but in the long run has nothing to offer to the body. The quick energy, sugary taste it gives is just momentary, and if consumed constantly, its effect can be harmful. Causes of diabetes, obesity, and heart issues are on the increase among the aged as a result of what they may have consumed while they were young.
Mindfulness in what you eat is very important as it can reduce stress and fears associated with food choices. Being conscious of what you eat is not denying yourself your favourite treat, but making choices that will support your well-being. A balanced diet that includes fruit, whole grains, vegetables, etc., can provide a long-lasting positive effect. Ultimately, health is like money; we never have a true idea of its value until we lose it. Let your food be your medicine and your medicine your food. Feed well and stay healthy.
In addition to what you eat, also be mindful of what you drink, and the creams and soaps that your body consumes.
