14. THE POWER OF MORNING ROUTINES - Becoming Organised - Jack’s Empowerment and Inspiration - Empowering And Inspiring Generations

 14. THE POWER OF MORNING ROUTINES

The way you begin your day determines how the rest of the day will go.  A planned routine keeps you calm, focused, and prepared to face the challenges of the day. In contrast, a hurried, hectic morning might leave you feeling worried and unprepared.  Establishing a morning routine is about forming a few easy habits that set you up for a successful day, not about getting up at five in the morning or adhering to a rigid schedule.  An organised morning gives you more energy, lowers worry, and gives you a reason to optimise each day.

The night before, is the start of a good morning routine.  Make a to-do list, get your clothes ready, or arrange your workstation to plan your day in advance.  This saves time in the morning and lessens decision fatigue. You can start with a clear head, rather than feeling disorganised, when you wake up knowing what to concentrate on.  Wakefulness is made easier and more efficient by establishing a basic bedtime routine, such as setting an alarm, jotting down priorities, and making sure you receive enough sleep.

Adding a few constructive routines to your morning routine can also have a significant impact.  This could be writing, reading, stretching, or simply taking a minute to reflect and make plans for the day.  A lot of successful people start their days with activities that improve their mood and energy levels.  While meditation or gratitude exercises are preferred by some, others discover that exercise makes them feel more alert.  You don’t have to do everything; just do what suits you the best, and keeps you motivated.
