20. WILL YOU CONTROL YOUR HABITS OR LET THEM CONTROL YOU?
You may not realise how much your habits influence your day-to-day existence. Your level of organisation, efficiency, and stress reduction is determined by the little things you do repeatedly; whether they are beneficial or not. Disorganisation is a problem for many people, not because they lack the time or skills, but rather because they have bad habits. They unknowingly establish patterns that result in disarray, missing deadlines, and excessive workloads. The good news is that habits can be altered, and you may have a planned and orderly life by taking charge of them.
Finding the habits that are holding you back is the first step towards changing them. You may not be getting the most out of your daily routines if you frequently lose things, arrive late, or allow clutter to accumulate. Take note of how you spend your day. Do you often put off doing your own housework? Do you put off doing things because you think they’re too big? Finding these trends enables you to determine what needs to change. Transformation starts with awareness.
Start making tiny, deliberate changes as soon as you have determined what needs to change. Develop the habit of taking care of minor jobs right away rather than waiting until things become unmanageable. Set aside just five minutes each day to clean up if clutter is a persistent problem. To ensure you never have to look for them, keep necessities in their proper locations. If you struggle with procrastination, divide your work into manageable chunks and set a timer to help you concentrate for brief periods of time.
Be in control of your habits, and don’t let them over burden you.
